Cleaner screens: clearer buttons and labels, tidier panels on small phones, a new Kitchen look, and fallow land showing where your field can grow.
How to play
Rootstead is an idle farm game. You start with twelve plots of soil, a handful of coins and a bag of radish seeds.
- Plant: pick a seed in the seed chip at the bottom, then tap empty plots. Drag to plant a whole row.
- Water: tap a growing plot. Watering cuts the time it still needs by 30%, once per planting.
- Harvest: tap a ripe plot, or use the Harvest button to bring everything in at once.
- Sell your harvest at the market stall. Prices shift every two hours, so a crop marked *high* is worth selling now.
- Visitors wait at the gate with shopping lists. They pay well above market price and teach you more than selling does.
Your farm keeps growing
Everything runs on real time. Crops ripen, the bees fill jars of honey, the windmill grinds flour and new visitors arrive while the game is closed. When you come back, a summary tells you what happened.
Growing the farm
- Levels unlock fifteen crops, from 30-second radishes to melons that take eight hours.
- New plots: tap a for-sale sign on the field next to your land.
- Buildings: the Beehive makes honey on its own; the Windmill turns wheat into flour; the Bakery and Kitchen turn flour and vegetables into bread, cakes, pies, salads and soups.
- Helpers: Sprinklers water every new planting; a Farmhand harvests and replants for hours while you are away.
- Decorations add charm, and every point of charm raises the price of everything you sell.
Tips
- Pick crops that ripen around the time you will be back: radishes for a quick session, pumpkins or melons overnight.
- Keep a few of each crop in the barn. Visitors pay far more than the market.
- Long crops are not worse than short ones: every crop earns about the same per hour, and later crops earn more.
