What is Duskhollow?
Duskhollow is a full-length action RPG that runs in your browser. One act, five classes, seventeen hand-dressed and randomly generated areas, and about two hours to the final boss on Normal. After that, Nightmare and Hell bring tougher monsters and better loot for the same hero.
The heroes
- Templar: a holy knight with a sword and shield. Auras such as Might, Holy Fire and Prayer, plus the spinning Blessed Hammer.
- Barbarian: axes and war cries. Leap, Whirlwind, Battle Orders and Howl.
- Elementalist: fire, frost and lightning. Fire Bolt to Meteor, Frost Nova to Blizzard, Charged Bolt to Chain Lightning, and Teleport.
- Ranger: crossbows, traps and smoke. Multishot, Strafe, Incendiary Bolt and fire traps.
- Bonecaller: a necromancer. Raise skeletons and skeletal mages, summon a Bone Golem, explode corpses and curse enemies.
Each class has three skill trees with twelve skills and synergies. Every level gives you 5 stat points (Strength, Dexterity, Vitality, Energy) and 1 skill point.
How to play
- Create a hero and talk to the people of Emberwatch. They give quests, sell and buy gear, repair it, gamble, identify items, cut gems and hire mercenaries.
- Leave through the east gate into the Wretched Moor. Kill monsters for experience, gold and items.
- Touch waypoints to travel quickly between areas later. Read a Town Portal scroll to get back to camp and return to the same spot.
- Keep your best gear in the stash chest at camp. Gold and items there are safe.
- Finish the six quests: the Den of Rot, the Pale Shepherd, the Lost Archivist, the Gloom Tower, the Ember Forge and the Thorn Maiden.
Monsters
Skeleton warriors, archers and mages, rotting walkers, hollowling packs with shamans who raise their fallen, wraiths and brutes. Blue champion packs and gold unique monsters roll modifiers such as Extra Strong, Fire Enchanted, Lightning Enchanted, Multishot and Cursed. Each major area ends with a boss.
Items
Items come as normal, superior, magic (blue), rare (yellow) and unique (gold). They roll prefixes and suffixes such as +life, resistances, life steal, attack speed or +skills. Socketed items take rubies, sapphires, topazes, emeralds, amethysts, diamonds and skulls. Durability wears down, and the blacksmith repairs it.
