Four houses hold the corners of one island. You are the king of Falconhold, and the only way out of your own gate is on foot, sword in hand. Chapels on the roads between the castles pay double what a castle does, and they start neutral, so the first minutes are a land grab. Gold buys a retinue in your own yard: farmers with pikes, swordsmen, archers, crossbowmen, knights. They march at your flanks until you post some of them somewhere to hold it, and take up the ground again when you call them back. Taking a castle means breaking its gate with your own sword while its bowmen shoot down at you from the rampart, cutting through the garrison holding the yard, and standing on the ground between their banners long enough for the colours to change. A house that loses its last castle never raises a king again. Take all three and the island is yours, and your time goes on the board.</description> <parameter name="controls">WASD to march, Shift to run, Space to jump, drag or Q/E to look. First release. One island, four houses, and a war fought on foot: break a castle gate with your own sword while its bowmen shoot down from the rampart, cut through the garrison, and hold the ground between their banners until the colours change. Gold from castles and chapels buys a retinue you can post or call back. Take all three rival houses and your time goes on the board.</changelog>
